● Connect Volunteerism to Community ImpactEngage in conversation with growers and staff about the role volunteers play in advancing food access, sustainability, and equity, and leave with practical takeaways for applying best practices in volunteerism.
Accessibility Notes
Due to the permaculture design of the garden, guests can expect to navigate hilly terrain while on the tour. We recommend wearing shoes that are comfortable and easy to walk in. The garden is located at the end of a winding, uneven gravel driveway. Guests who need to be dropped off at the entrance of the garden should let a Global Growers staff member know ahead of time so that we can open the gate for you to drive up to the entrance. There is no bathroom on site at DKG.
Garden Reminder:
As this is a community garden, please do not pick any of the food in the garden plots. Additionally, some of the plot boundaries may not be clearly visible. Please do not walk over the cultivated portions of the garden, even if the plots appear to be empty. Thank you for understanding and for helping us to care for the plants and keep the soil alive!
Special thanks to CVC member Katie Beacham (Kilpatrick Townsend) for sponsoring and hosting this program.
Please feel free to include colleagues or a guest in your RSVP. We look forward to seeing you at this relaxed gathering!
