Just one week ago, Hurricane Helene blazed through the Southeastern United States leaving unimaginable devastation along its path. Precious lives were lost and communities destroyed. All those affected will need tremendous support to recover, rebuild, and restore stability in the days, weeks, months, and years ahead.

Many Corporate Volunteer Council of Atlanta (CVC) member companies prioritize disaster response on an ongoing basis and have industry-specific plans and nonprofit partners in place so that their business may strategically assist during times of need. But what about everyone else? Should we help? And if so, how?

CVC corporate members and nonprofit member partners are invited to participate in a "pop up" peer-to-peer sharing session on Tuesday, October 8 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. as we discuss how and when companies and organizations may provide meaningful help in the wake of Helene and other disasters.

Our speakers include:

Shell Berry, President/CEO, Community Foundation for the CSRA

Geneva Hall-Shelton, Senior Manager of Corporate Responsibility and Community Impact, IHG Hotels and Resorts

We will also allow plenty of time for group discussion and problem solving.

We know it is short notice, but we hope you and your colleagues will join us on Tuesday via Zoom as we come together as a CVC community and support one another professionally and personally.
