Since the Civil Rights era, Atlanta leaders have embraced what is known as "The Atlanta Way." According to the historians, The Atlanta Way has its roots in Black and white business leaders meeting behind closed doors to negotiate incremental advances in racial issues to avoid public protests and preserve the city's business-friendly image.

How has The Atlanta Way evolved as conversations around equity, inclusion and belonging have come to the forefront? What is Atlanta doing well, and where do we have room for growth? How does The Atlanta Way impact corporate community engagement both internally and externally?

Please join the CVC of Atlanta for our Q1 Meeting on Wednesday, February 23 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. for "The Atlanta Way and The Atlanta Way Today. " We'll address these questions through vibrant discussion featuring:

Jay Bailey, President and CEO, H.J. Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurship (RICE)

Ed Baker, Executive in Residence, J. Mack Robinson School of Business, Georgia State University and former publisher, Atlanta Business Chronicle

Maria Saporta, Founder and Contributor, SaportaReport (Moderator)

Our program is hosted by the H.J. Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurship (RICE). We hope that you will take time to learn more about The Center and their mission prior to our visit. Complimentary parking is available in the lot across the street from RICE (pre-paid by CVC). We encourage guests to consider taking MARTA or carpooling to The Center. The CVC will provide a hot breakfast for all program participants.

All guests are asked to follow the CVC's COVID protocol (under "Latest News") and will be asked to provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test upon arrival. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Please note: We are incorporating elements of service into all of the CVC's 30th Anniversary programs and events. In celebration of the CVC's recent "baby boom," we invite all registrants to bring baby diapers in any size or baby wipes to donate in support of local families in need. Thanks in advance for your generosity!

This program is part of the CVC's 30th Anniversary programming and is appropriate for community relations, corporate social responsibility and community engagement professionals at all career levels.
