FOUR ATLANTA CORPORATIONS WINNERS OF IMPACT AWARDS

2011 winners are AGL Resources, Alston & Bird, Cisco, and Cox Enterprises

 

ATLANTA (September 30, 2011) – The Corporate Volunteer Council of Atlanta (CVC) is proud to announce the winners of its 2011 IMPACT Awards, revealed at the 14th Annual IMPACT awards program at the King Plow Arts Center on September 22, 2011.

 

“Our IMPACT award winners remain the front-running corporations inAtlanta, who are demonstrating on a daily basis the essential elements of volunteerism in business,” emphasized Cheryl Kortemeier, executive director of the CVC of Atlanta. “From student engagement to park projects to desk-side assistance, the winners in each category showcase the best ofAtlanta’s volunteer work through companies that make a difference in our local community.”

 

The winners of the three categories outlined below:

 

IMPACT Award (Two sub-categories: Small-to-medium size and large size businesses)

Presented to exemplary corporate employee volunteer programs that effectively integrate volunteerism into the company’s business culture

Small to Medium Size Business:

 

Large Size Business:

 

Project Based Award

Presented to a short-term volunteer project that has been completed within one year and has achieved significant, measurable results

 

Business to Non-Profit Award

Presented to programs or projects that have collaborated with another business or agency to achieve significant, measurable results

 

The 14th Annual IMPACT Awards Program featured an awards ceremony and networking reception, along with a keynote address by Dr. Steven D. Olson, Director, Center for Ethics and Corporate Responsibility, J. Mack Robinson College of Business, Georgia State University. The 2011 IMPACT Awards Presenting Sponsor was The Home Depot Foundation. IMPACT Level sponsors were AGL Resources, the Atlanta Business Chronicle and Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. INSPIRE Level sponsors were AT&T, Cisco, The Coca-Cola Company, Edelman and Newell Rubbermaid.
